Elva project |
||||||||
Greg Day has imagined an organic grid of both straight and curved lines extending indefinitely. Using computer aided drafting software, Greg has captured a portion of this grid in a drawing which would extend several miles in all directions if printed full size. This grid is the framework upon which Greg explores and experiments with the influences of light, architecture, urban environments, stark landscapes, oceans and family. A theoretically infinite painting, Elva is the aggregate of the various 16” x 12” panels, the basic units, which can be reunited simply by bolting them together. To create finite art from an infinite plan, Greg isolates small sections of Elva.

For me, Elva represents the illusion of seperateness. An infinite whole, Elva transcends the individual panels, the threads of an unending tapestry. --Cathy Matero, Non-Dualist |
